Bring the Rain

I couldn't help but be caught up in some irony today. As I was driving in to work it started to rain. As it was raining, "MercyMe's" hit song, "Bring the Rain" was playing on the radio.

As all of this is going on, President Obama is preparing to give a speech at the Kennedy Space Center on his double talk / going back on his "word" version of the "non-future" of our country's manned space program. Unlike one of his Democratic Presidential (President Kennedy) predecessors, he is dismantling the Space Program and allowing other nations to take the lead or in Russia's case, charge us millions of dollars to fly to the International Space Station of which we financed the great majority of it.

While all of this is going on we are less than 24 hours away from Florida's Governor, Charlie Crist, signing or vetoing SB-6 which will tie teacher's salary and employment to a 2-day event better known as high stakes testing.

Yet, what is even more frightening to me is the thought of praying the prayer in the MercyMe song, "Bring the Rain."

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You Jesus, bring the rain

I'm not there yet guys but if you are, God bless you. Pray for me and my heart.

P.S.
Governor Crist of Florida decided to veto SB-6
If you check out the link you'll see what is wrong with both our Republican and Democratic representatives - they do not listen to their constituents.
A line from the article:
"It generated protests by teachers and parents across the state and had scant public support. It generated protests by teachers and parents across the state and had scant public support."

Comments:
If public opinion polls counted that much, we would not have this present health care disaster just passed by those "geniuses" in DC. I just hope we can all hold on until the electorate does some housecleaning in November. If housecleaning is not done, then we have no room to complain any further.

Having talked with you about this bill earlier in the week, I'm glad he vetoed it regardless of why.

And, having lived in that area twice in my life (late 50s - early 60s and again in the mid 80s till 1993), I hate to see it dry up because we have a socialist / communist president who wants nothing more than weaken this nation as much as one man can do in four years.

Greg - Thanks Bro. I believe we have entered an unprecedented era in our country in which our elected “public servants” have forgotten and ignore their public.

Yes the current regime makes me angry...all the time. I am not quite able to word that prayer yet either...but I really want to!

I'm not there yet, either, Cecil, but I continue to try to move in that direction. Completely different subject entirely, but last night's dreams showed me again how far I am from achieving a goal of "whatever Lord."

Politics-I just can't stand it any more. I don't watch it. I don't argue it. It's just ludicrous. They are 90% liars anyway. No matter what side of the coin you're on. God help us.

I heartily agree with your post and comments by others.

God help us all . . .

Dee

P.S. For us, the rain is already here and stormin', too.

Dee
