Can't Make It Because????
Hello there - my followup posts will have to follow up after this one. A group of us are planning to take our college kids out to their favorite restaurant before they all head off to college. When the plans were announced all of the "kids" and their parents gave an affirmative save for one family.
They said there was a strong probability they would be unable to attend due to:
1. Death in the family? No.
2. Catastrophic illness? No.
3. Family coming in from out of town? No.
O.K, are you ready? The reason they might miss this fun event - poor gator hunting! Yes, you know you're a redneck when you can't make a dinner engagement because the gator hunting hasn't been as productive as you had anticipated.
How many places in the world could poor gator hunting be used as a, "I'm sorry, but ....."

Dude- I've heard some funny reasons why people can't give to support a new church start, but that's hilarious.
There could very well come a time when I would tell a person, "We can't make it ... not enough people have died lately." It's whatever puts $$ in your pocket. But you are right ... that's not an excuse you'll hear very often and probably no where else in these United States.
CL - Good to see you again. BTW - the "Gator Hunters" decided to come to dinner tomorrow since the gators seem to know that its Hunting Season.

Gator hunting, hunh?! That wouldn't happen right here, but close enough by I'm glad the gators are being hunted!!
